My many-years-old Braun Series 7 Shaver started making a racket one morning and I after looking online I diagnosed the Motor Drive as worn out. The rest of the Shaver seemed fine (Battery, exterior, etc), so rather than spend several hundred dollars on a new Shaver, I took a chance and bought an ~$50 replacement Motor Drive Unit from Shaveroutlet.com. They had a video showing the removal and replacement process, and it was maybe a 20-minute job being careful and taking my time. The Drive Unit fit perfectly and the result is like-new Shaver performance. It's even quieter than before the racket, so I guess that gradual wear increases shaver noise slowly over time.
