My experience is the same as the one above ***. I only used the new part, after installing it for one week when while cleaning it, the head frame with hinge came out of the razor. The metal hinge, only held in by two small plastic tabs, which broke, allowed the entire head to fall off. With the plactic tabs broken, the metal hinge will not stay in allowing the head to not be able to be attached making the razor now useless. Poor cheap imported parts! I doubt whether Shaveroutlet will replace the entire part as they will say I was too rough and mishandled it which was not the case. Well, live and learn! I thought the razor was kaput since Norelco doesn't make a replacement. This has saved my razor. Works well and I had read about the hinge giving way. I have not had this very long, but I am glad the fellow wrote about that hinge. My suggestion, and I would have never thought about it except for his comment, is to NOT let the head swing back when you release it. I think the hinge is too small for the size of the head frame and weight of cutters and blades. Place you hand over the head frame when you open it and ease it back. That will reduce the amount of pressure put on the hinge. (Posted on 3/23/2023)

This was working OK, but then one day I went to pop the shaver open to clean it. Same procedure as usual, and I wasn't handling it roughly. The metal hinge with spring came out of the head frame. I thought at first I could insert it back in. But on looking closely, I saw that the metal hinge was held into the frame with two small plastic tabs. Those tabs had broken off. So the frame and razor are basically useless now -- guess I'll break down and replace the razor, since this was the only source I could find for a frame. (Posted on 12/14/2022)

Quality replacement and fits well !! The only draw back is....the clear blade cover tab on the blade holder is slightly smaller than the original - making the cover slightly loose. All in all, a great replacement. (Posted on 12/9/2022)

Puse 4 estrellas porque la maquina, a pesar de que funciona y afeita muy bien, sin embargo su sonido no es el mismo, lo siento bronca, quizas necesite mejor nivelacion de componentes.
Tampoco pido perfeccion, pero despues de 10 años sin funcionamiento no puedo pedir mas.

Estoy muy contento de haberla recuperado, y la tengo en uso diariamente.
quizas con el uso se le va ese sonidito bronco.

first: the service was excellent, fast turnaround and delivery - 5 stars for that. For the parts themselves - 1 star: in the past 9 months, I've needed 2 of these for my 8160XL. They are not OEM. Both lasted 4 - 5 months only. My observations.
• The hinge is not a great fit but can work OK,
• The latch fit is not tight - the head has a tendency to open, sometimes while using.
• The initial failure points are the plastic latches that secure the head frame (that locks into place) break, one at a time. With 1 out of 3 it's still usable, but care with opening
• Eventually the hinge holder breaks, making it unusable

So: $30 for a part that lasts 4 months... 1 star
